Pope Francis received the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama on the morning of this Saturday, 27 November. The two men discussed the current political situation in the Balkan countries and the generosity of Albanians in welcoming refugees who arrive in Europe.
According to a statement from the Vatican Press Room, the Albanian president also met at the Vatican with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and with the Secretary for Relations with States, Bishop Paul Gallagher.
“The good relations between the Holy See and Albania have been highlighted and some issues of common interest have been addressed regarding the relations between the ecclesial community and the civil, the Church’s contribution to the common good of Albanian society, migration, and peace,” said the Vatican press release.
