Steps to Heal Internal Wounds

It is often said that the root cause of the various problems and mental disorders that human beings experience is the adverse conditions they face in life, such as traumatic injuries or psychological trauma. Internal wounds are a barrier to one’s spiritual growth and emotional and mental maturity. Therefore, it is essential to healing these wounds and traumas.

This may seem like a difficult or never possible task. But it is possible if you have hope and faith in God and in His grace. Here are ten steps to heal internal wounds …

1. Be silent; close your eyes. Look inside yourself. Ask yourself, what’s bothering me internally?

2. Identify what that feeling is that is bothering you; Accept it. See it as your own. So admit to yourself that you have a wound.

3. You are facing that wound that hurts you; Experience it, realize it. Do not discard.

4. Admit that such hurtful things have happened in your life. Accept it as something real.

5. Do not reject or omit it. Accept with humility, objectivity and courage what has happened to you or what is happening to you now.

6. Understand this as a component of personal life. Do not fight with these.

7. Prepare yourself for forgiveness. Open your heart and forgive. Let go of hatred, animosity and resentment.

8. Abandon revenge and do justice. Do not make war with the situation.

9. Sincerely forgive the person who hurt us because we want to heal this inner wound.

10. Write a note or letter to the person who hurt you. Tell the person that you are forgiving and want reconciliation.
