Saint Agnes of Montepulciano was born to a rich family. At six, she began to push her parents to join the convent. But the nun community accepted her at the convent at Montepulciano, Italy at nine. When her spiritual director was appointed to a Feminine monk, she took Agnes with her.
Saint Agnes lived off bread and water and slept on the ground, using a stone for a pillow. In 1298 she returned to Montepulciano to work in a new Dominican convent. She was an elder of the house for seventeen years of her life.
Agnes died on April 20, at the convent of Montepulciano, Italy of natural causes following a long illness.
