Everyone dreams that a mind that feels calm and free. But the memories of the past weigh heavily on our minds very often. The thought of sin hurts the minds of many people. The life that sustains the pain of that wound keeps us away from even the joys of today. Instead of learning from our mistakes, we should be willing to forgive ourselves, realizing that living with guilt is useless.
The biggest reason for not being able to forgive yourself is the sense of pride. We often confess certain sins. God forgave those sins once they confessed. Yet if we confess it again, it is not God who forgives, but us. If we cling to things that God has forgiven and forgotten, it is only because of the self that I am, of course. The fact is that not only is there no point in bringing back to life what God has forgotten, but it is also endangering the life ahead.
We can easily forgive those who hurt us. But often we fall right in front of ourselves. Many find it difficult to forgive themselves. People will be stuck for days on end with some hurtful words, hurtful situations, or falls that came. The first thing to do to get out of it is to forgive yourself. There is no other way to regain the freedom of the mind.
How to Forgive Yourself
When a fall occurs in life, the first step is to clearly understand the circumstances under which that fall will occur. Identify what went wrong on our part. After acknowledging that the fall was your own fault, repent of the sins you have committed. Make a good confession and say your mistakes. You have to accept the forgiveness given by the priest and start a new life with a new heart.
Every day is an opportunity to make new decisions and start all over again. We need to recognize that and use the time and circumstances available to us. Forgive yourself for that and let us start the journey with a good heart.
