Spiritual Fitness for Better Memory

Memory is the fundamental matter of our soul. It shapes our personality and profession. Memory defines that who we are and allows us to keep our loved ones close, even when they are far away. The memory of all the good and bad events of life molds our future and present. It also helps us to envision the lessons of life. It reminds us who is trustworthy and who isn’t, who helped us, and whom we need to help. Memory helps us recall important elements of our lives and helps keep us centered and growing. In short, memory gives meaning to our lives.

When our memory is diminished or damaged, it can affect our total life. We cannot lead a better and more sensible life without having proper memory. Our success of life also can be imbalanced.

We have to keep our brains fresh always to have a better memory always. Spiritual fitness is inevitable for that.

Spirituality has come to mean an individual’s search for a higher power or for something sacred or divine. Learning to accept and forgive yourself and others, having empathy, and being compassionate are core components of psycho-spiritual well-being.

Here are six ways to empower your memory

1. The Power of Meditation

Meditation is the best practice to keep calm our minds. It can give us concentration and peace of mind. There are no certain rules for Meditation. You can practice religious meditation, yoga and your own methods of being in your own world.

2. Daily Prayer

A wealth of research shows that prayer and meditation have been found to calm stress; improve memory, focus, and mood, and enhance function in the prefrontal cortex of the brain. The same way you schedule a time to work out, make prayer a priority in your appointment book.

3. Faith into Action

We believe in God. God gives a message of love and forgiveness. Put these two as practical things in your life. There should happen miracles more than your expectations.

4. Have a Spiritual Friend

Just like you might hire a personal trainer to help you get the most out of your workouts, a spiritual mentor can be beneficial to your spiritual life. A mentor could be a priest, nun, or pastor, or any other person who can guide you in your spiritual quest. The mentor-mentee relationship isn’t about being told what to do or how to think, rather it’s a way to explore and stretch your spirituality.

5. Find Time for Yourself

Being of service to others is a key aspect of a healthy spiritual life. Whenever you feel down, anxious or angry, it is best to change your state of mind. You can do some meaningful activities like sports, listening to music and your other favorite things.

6. Find your Aim

To strengthen your spiritual fitness, you need to know your purpose in life. You have an aim to complete. Find your mission and chase it. Give value to virtues while you work for your aim.
