Pope Francis encouraged this Friday, before the Sunday of the Word of God is celebrated, to read the Bible every day.
“The Word brings us closer to God,” the Holy Father wrote on his Twitter account on 21 January.
The Word brings us closer to God. Let’s always carry it with us, in a place where we remember to read it every day so that among so many words that reach our ears, some verse of the Word of God reaches our hearts.

Pope Francis instituted the Sunday of the Word of God in September 2019, so that the universal Church celebrates it every third Sunday in Ordinary Time. This 2022 will be on January 23.
The objective of this celebration is to make “the religious and assiduous familiarity with Sacred Scripture grow in the people of God.”
