In this age of epidemics, many people are suffering from severe mental health problems. The sadness and depression in the lives of many, rather than the illness, lead them to catastrophic accidents. It can later develop into mental and physical illness.
Many today are in a state of self-loathing due to separation from loved ones, stress, isolation and financial hardship. All of these emotions can be overwhelmed by stress. People are living well today but are terribly worried about the future. They do not live in the present. They are worried about what tomorrow will bring. We also need God’s help to keep us from succumbing to anxieties, depression, and other negative emotions.
If we pay attention to certain things in our daily life, we can eliminate our problems. Here are some suggestions …
1. One way to avoid grief and anxiety during this epidemic is not to live thinking only of what is to come. Find a reason to live in the present. Find time to talk, sing, or play games with family or friends, either online or in-person (depending on health protocols, etc.). Arrange a time to enjoy your hobbies.
2. You may feel isolated even if you work from home. Keep the house clean and well-dressed while working from home.
3. Listen to how you speak. Try not to talk unnecessarily about fate, darkness, gossip, or things that make you angry or sad. Because it strengthens pessimistic beliefs and negativity. Such conversations are harmful to us and to others.
4. Do not live with the obligation to meet the expectations of others. Fulfill your obligations to others as much as you can. But at the same time, be realistic and compassionate with yourself. Jesus never tried to do anything to gain the approval of anyone other than his heavenly Father. At the same time, it does not mean that you do not care about others. The limit of our freedom is compassion and respect for our neighbors. In fact, the more our ego binds us, the more we seek the approval of others.
5. We need the joy of hope to overcome sorrow. Hope is the most fundamental quality of resisting grief and overcoming moments of uncertainty. This is a gift we should receive from God. We can cultivate hope in our souls by focusing on what we have experienced or what is positive.
6. Form a grateful heart. Thank God for the blessings we receive in our personal lives and in the lives of our loved ones. Rejoice in the blessings without regretting the shortcomings.
