Archbishop Samuel Aquila, Archbishop of Denver (United States), raised his prayers for all those affected by the great fire in the state of Colorado.It has destroyed hundreds of houses since noon on Thursday, 30 December. He also announced a series of actions to help the victims.
“Let us pray for all those affected by the devastating wildfires in the Denver metropolitan area, especially for those who have lost their homes and for emergency rescuers who are responding,” the Prelate wrote on his Twitter account.
“Almighty God, we ask that the winds calm down and that you extend your protective and healing hand,” added the Archbishop.
The fires destroyed around 580 houses and forced the evacuation of thousands of residents of the towns of Superior and Louisville, in the state of Colorado, whose governor, Jared Polis, declared a state of emergency.
