Former Anglican Bishop Ordained Catholic Priest 

Former Anglican Bishop Michael Nazir- Ali was ordained a Catholic priest by Cardinal Vincent Nichols, the Archbishop of Westminster. on 30 October at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and Saint Gregory in London. The Cardinal told that as “a moment of great joy”.

“The Church places such confidence in the efficacy of ordained ministry. For this reason, this ordination is a moment of great joy,” said the cardinal in the homily of the Mass. The 72-year-old Anglican Bishop, Nazir- Ali entered into full communion with Rome within the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham on September 29. He was born in Karachi, Pakistan, in 1949 with both Christian and Muslim family backgrounds and possesses British and Pakistani citizenship.
