Saint Gaetano Errico (1791- 1860) was born in Naples, Italy. He was an Italian Roman Catholic Priest from Naples and the founder of the Missionari dei Sacri Cuori di Gesue Maria. His parents gave him excellent Christian spiritual life training. At the age of 14, he had a desire for the priesthood and monasticism. At the age of 16, he was admitted to the Archdiocesan Seminary in Naples and began his studies in 1808.
He was ordained a priest on 23 September 1815 by Cardinal Rafosilla. He was assigned as a teacher. There had an incident in 1818 that changed the life of Gaetano. Saint Alphonsus Liguori appeared before him asking to form a new monastic congregation. He has got a foresight of building a church of Maddona Addolorata. The church was completed on December 9, 1830, and was blessed.
On March 14, 1836, the new congregation and ordinance were started. The new monastery began in October with eight artisans. On August 7, 1846, the Apostolic Order approved the new monastic order and ordinance. Gaetano was elected the first Superior General.
He was willing to travel as much as he could to preach, and confess. His comfort and presence were reminiscent of the love of God the Father. That is why people called him a saint.
