CBCI Condemns in Strongest Terms the Terrorist Attack on Innocent Tourists in Pahalgam

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) is shocked and outraged by the cowardly terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, resulting in loss of precious lives and injury to many. We strongly condemn this heinous crime against humanity, which has targeted innocent lives, causing immense pain and suffering to families and loved ones.

This brutal act is a grave affront to human dignity and values. We demand that those responsible for this atrocity be brought to justice. We appeal to all those involved in violence to lay down their arms and embrace the path of peace. Violence only breeds more violence, and it is high time for us to choose the path of love, compassion, and understanding.

The CBCI requests the Christian community across India to pray fervently for the repose of the souls of those who have lost their lives in this senseless act of violence. Also pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack.

Our hearts go out to the families of the victims, and we express our deepest condolences to them. We stand united with them in prayer and solidarity during this hour of grief.

May the God of peace grant us the strength to overcome hatred and violence and to walk the path of love and compassion.
