We often see parents being very upset with naughty babies. Naughtiness, stubbornness, and cruelty are more common, especially in boys.
Naughtiness in boys can be controlled and they can be easily managed. The life of St. Don Bosco can be used as a model for that. Throughout his life, he shows some of the ways to guide naughty boys. Let’s go through them.
1. Punishments can be Avoided
The first step is to look for loopholes to avoid punishing and over-disciplining children. There is no point in just giving punishments to avoid child abuse. You must love them. When they realize that, their mischiefs will be changed when they understand that their actions hurt their loving parents.
2. Fathers Spend more Time with their Boys
Do not dismiss children as naughty. Fathers need to find time to spend more time with them. That’s exactly what Don Bosco did. He used to play, laugh, dance, sing and climb trees with his mischievous students. They loved him for being with them in any of their activities. So spend more time with the kids.
3. Provide Jobs
Do not exclude children from responsibilities because they think they are naughty. Assign them individual tasks. Don Bosco gave the most important tasks to the very naughty children. When assigning responsibilities do not insist that they do it almost perfectly the first time. They might be making mistakes but support them and do the works together. In doing so, children will love their parents.
