Pope Francis Celebrates Early Christmas with Underprivileged Children

Children from the Santa Marta Pediatric Dispensary, a facility offering free pediatric care to underprivileged children in the Vatican, celebrated an early Christmas and Pope Francis’ birthday with gifts and a cake. After the Angelus, the Pope shared his joyful experience at the dispensary, praising the work of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul.

The Pope emphasised that every child is precious, saying, “No child is a mistake!” He also commended the Vincentian nuns, particularly Sister Antonietta Collacchi, who dedicated many years to directing the dispensary.

This traditional visit, promoted by the dispensary, has supported needy communities with pediatric care and donations for 102 years. The celebration continued with animations, games, and gift-giving, including toys, food, and a calendar. A packed lunch with pizza, nuggets, and fruit concluded the festive event.
