Fulani Extremists Launch Simultaneous Attacks on Christian Towns in Nigeria, Killing at Least 10

On 3 September, Fulani extremists carried out coordinated attacks on two Christian towns in Plateau state, Nigeria, resulting in the deaths of at least 10 people. The attacks occurred in Daffo and Kwatas, with six people killed in Daffo and four in Kwatas. The assailants also destroyed several farms in the area.

The attacks began around 7 p.m., with soldiers arriving in Daffo around 9:30 p.m. to secure the area. Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang condemned the attacks, expressing sorrow over the loss of life and calling for a strong response from security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The governor commended the security forces for their efforts and urged them to enhance intelligence gathering to prevent future incidents. The attacks are the latest in a series of violent incidents targeting Christian communities in Nigeria, highlighting the need for increased security measures to protect vulnerable populations.
