The Miracle of the Liquefaction of the Blood of Saint Gennaro was Repeated

The Archdiocese of Naples announced that the miracle of the liquefaction of the blood of Saint Gennaro was repeated yesterday, Saturday, at the end of the Mass for the feast of his patronage.

On its Facebook account, the Italian archdiocese reported that on December 16, at 10:35 in the morning “the announcement of the liquefaction of the blood of Saint Gennaro was made”, at the end of the Eucharist celebrated in the Chapel of the Treasure of the Cathedral of Naples.

The Mass was presided over by the Abbot Prelate, Mons. Vincenzo De Gregorio, “on the occasion of the Feast of the Patronage of Saint Gennaro, which is traditionally accompanied by the hope of the prodigious liquefaction of the blood of the patron saint,” indicated the archdiocese in your website.

The miracle of liquefaction occurs three times a year. The first happens on the day when the transfer of the remains of San Gennaro to Naples is commemorated (the Saturday before the first Sunday in May); the day of his liturgical feast (September 19); and on December 16, when devotees thank him for his intercession to alleviate the effects of the eruption of the Vesuvius volcano, which occurred in 1631.
