Pope Francis asked a group of new priests from the Legionaries of Christ for his blessing, encouraging them to be “priests for all the people of God,” and warning them: “Beware of becoming elites.”
On Wednesday, May 3, more than 20 new priests of the Legionaries of Christ, ordained on April 29 in Rome, greeted the Holy Father at the end of his general audience in St. Peter’s Square.
Among those new priests was Fr. Salvador Arellano. The new presbyter assured that the Pope had asked them to “give him a blessing. He then bowed down to receive the blessing of all of us.
The new priests come from Germany, Colombia, Chile, South Korea, Canada, Brazil, El Salvador, Spain, the United States, Italy, Mexico and Venezuela.
