Cloistered Nuns Leave Nicaragua

The Trappist Sisters of Nicaragua, who arrived from Argentina in 2001, announced that they have left Nicaragua after 22 years of work and service.

In a post on their Facebook page, the nuns explain: “We, the Trappist sisters of Nicaragua, have voluntarily left the country.”

The religious indicate the reasons for making this decision, “reasons for the Order”, the “lack of vocations” and the “old age of several sisters”, among others.
