Mother Mary’s pregnancy was known to her through Annunciation. From that moment on, she knew that in that look she would be going through a difficult time. But Mary gladly accepted the good news. Let us examine what are the four good examples that the Blessed Virgin Mary gives to mothers on Christmas, the day which celebrates the birth of Jesus.
- Open-Mindedness
Mary showed no sign of disappointment or fear. The future was approached with hope. We too need to deal with joy and hope any difficulties that may be related to the baby from pregnancy
- Remember that God Gave the Baby
Mary said ‘Amen’ to the will of God, even though it could have great consequences. This was because she was convinced that God had given her the baby. So, no matter what the situation, we can warmly welcome the God-given child.
- God Allows Pain
Very often the illness and pain of children make parents very upset. Mary, too, could not change the dangers of Jesus’ life. All she could do was share in the sufferings with him. All we can do is share the child’s pain and illness, and stay with them.
- Complete Submission
As a woman Mary was completely devoted to the will of God. It out of love for her son. Love is sacrifice. Likewise, let us not forget that when we make sacrifices for our children, the return will be love.
