Messi Thanks God for Providing Worldcup as a Gift

By beating the French team in a penalty shootout Argentina won the Qatar 2022 World Cup this Sunday. For Lionel Messi, the Argentine captain, it is a gift from God.

“I knew that God was going to give it to me, I had a presentiment that it was going to be this,” he told the TyC Sports network.

“Obviously I wanted to close my career with this, I can’t ask for anything anymore. Thank God He gave me all of them,” said Messi, who was also awarded the Ballon d’Or by FIFA.

The match between Argentina and France has been considered by many sports commentators as one of the best in recent times.

Argentina seemed to have won the match by two goals to nil, but France equalized and took the match into extra time. After the additional minutes, both teams had been tied at three goals.

In the penalty shootout, Argentina beat France four goals to two.

Messi is considered one of the greatest players in soccer history and currently plays for the French team Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

“I just always think that God is the one who decides, God knows when it’s time, what’s the time and what has to happen. And I am always grateful for everything that happened to me both in football and in my life, ” he said on November 11 in an interview published by Diario Olé.
