Pope Francis lamented the recent clashes in Palestine and Israel on the scenario of the mass attack on people and their death.
The Holy Father warned that “violence kills the future” and weakens “hopes for peace.”
“Violence kills the future, destroying the lives of young people and weakening hopes for peace,” the Pope said before thousands of faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican on Sunday.
After imparting the blessing, the Holy Father said that he is following “with concern the increase in violence and clashes that have been taking place in the State of Palestine and Israel for months.”
Specifically, the Pope highlighted that “last Wednesday, two cowardly attacks in Jerusalem injured many people and killed an Israeli child; and on the same day, during armed clashes in Nablus, a Palestinian child was killed”.
“Let us pray for these deceased young people and for their families, especially for their mothers,” the Pope asked.
The Holy Father then called on the Israeli and Palestinian authorities to “take more seriously the search for dialogue, the building of mutual trust, without which there will never be a peace solution in the Holy Land.”
