Pope Francis said about the assistance and presence of saints when we are praying. The Holy Father reminds that every time the “heart is opened to God” in prayer, there is the company of “anonymous saints and recognized saints” who pray with and for us.
This was expressed by the Holy Father this November 22 in a message sent through his official Twitter account.
“Every time we join hands and open our hearts to God, we find ourselves in the company of anonymous saints and recognized saints, who pray with us and for us, like older brothers and sisters who have gone through our human adventure,” the Pope wrote.
On numerous occasions, Pope Francis has spoken about the saints “next door” as he also wrote in 2018 in the apostolic exhortation “ Gaudete et exsultate ” on the call to holiness in today’s world.
“I like to see holiness in the patient people of God: the parents who raise their children with so much love, in those men and women who work to bring bread to their homes, in the sick, in the elderly nuns who follow smiling,” the Pope said in an occasion.
Along these lines, Pope Francis wrote that many times the holiness next door is that “of those who live close to us and are a reflection of the presence of God, or, to use another expression, the middle class of Holiness”.
