One Million March in Mexico for Women and Life

More than 200,000 people marched in Mexico City alone to the emblematic Angel of Independence.

The marches were held in cities of 30 states “in favor of the causes of women, the protection of human life and the peace so longed for in Mexico.

“I am marching on behalf of millions of women, I come with my heart in my hand, I come for my family, for my friends, for my country,” said Laura, one of the attendees.

“It causes us a lot of pain that they don’t look at us and there are those who still confront women and the lives of our children in our womb as enemies,” she added.

One of the spokeswomen for the march said in turn that “what we want are life options for ourselves and our children, we believe that it is time to overcome abortion in Mexico, as slavery was overcome at the time.”

In the Angel of Independence, a manifesto was read in which all these four points are requested:

1.- That laws be generated in favor of women in vulnerable situations, that address the roots of their problems.

2.- That the life of every human being be protected equally before and after birth, without any discrimination, neither by degree of development, by health conditions, or for any other reason.

3.- That public policies be generated in favor of peace and unity for all, especially within the family.

4.- That confidence among citizens be recovered, so that we can live together in peace and harmony, without violence.

The marches went on a very happy and peaceful situation.
