The defenders of life in Ecuador invited to join the world prayer campaign “40 Days for Life”, which so far has managed to save more than 22 thousand unborn babies.
OnĀ 28 September, at least four cities in Ecuador: Guayaquil, Daule, Quito and Loja, joined “40 Days for Life”, one of the largest mobilizations in the world in defense of unborn babies.
More than 64 countries and consists of offering prayer and fasting for 40 days to ask for the end of abortion in the world.
The campaign, which will end on 6 November, invites churches, individuals, families and groups in the country to come together and decide to pray for a specific intention “so that the entire Body of Christ can unite.”
During this time, in some countries where abortion is legal, peaceful vigils are held in abortion centers. In the case of Ecuador, “they take place outside parishes and in parks.”
“40 Days for Life” indicated that the campaign in Ecuador will be held in the following places:
In Guayaquil, the participants call to pray at the “Mucho Lot 1” stadium, located outside the Santo TomĆ”s Moro parish.
In Daule, the vigils are held in “Vial 1 between La Joya and Villa Club, San Alberto Magno parish”; in Quito, in the CumbayĆ” Park, next to the San Pedro de CumbayĆ” Parish; and in Loja, it will be held in the central park of the city.
The campaign indicated that people of legal age can participate “voluntarily”, and minors must be “accompanied by their parents or relatives”.
In addition, they pointed out that people who are not Catholic are also invited to participate.
The global campaign “40 Days for Life” was born in 2004, in response to the creation of an abortion center in the United States.
“40 Days for Life” recalls that the campaign began with four people and “in six weeks it already had a thousand volunteers covering 960 hours of the vigil and reaching more than 25 thousand homes”; and this effort succeeded in reducing the abortion rate by 28%.
Currently, the campaign has managed to save 22,013 babies in 64 countries and convert 240 workers in the abortion industry, including “Planned Parenthood officials, who left their jobs” and joined in prayer.
