Nicaragua: Authority Prevents a Priest to Return to the Country

The Nicaraguan dictatorship prevented a Catholic priest from returning to the country. The Santa Lucía-Boaco Parish, of the Diocese of Granada, reported on 27 September that “the Nicaraguan Government denied our parish priest, Father Guillermo Blandón, re-entry into his country.”

“We ask for your prayers so that God protects our bishops, priests, and his Church. Thank you very much for your prayers. God bless you,” the Parish said on its Facebook page.

Fr. Blandón is the second priest to be denied entry to Nicaragua this month.

On 11 September, the newspaper La Prensa reported that the Nicaraguan Immigration and Immigration Office prevented Fr. Juan de Dios García, Vicar of the Santo Cristo de las Colinas Parish, from returning to the country after having traveled to the United States.
