Church in Nicaragua Announces the 2022 National Marian Congress

The Episcopal Conference of Nicaragua (CEN) invited all the dioceses, communities, and faithful to participate in the National Marian Congress. It is on the occasion of the closing of the pilgrimage of the pilgrim image of Our Lady of Fatima for over 30 months.

“We encourage you to live with joy and hope this time of grace for our country,” the bishops asked in a statement.

This congress, whose motto is the phrase of Saint John Bosco: “Mary, mother of hope, whoever trusts in Mary will never feel disappointed”, will begin with a “preparatory triduum” on August 10, 11, and 12, which will consist of days of reparation, Eucharistic adoration, Marian reflections, penitential liturgies, etc.

Each diocese will have a replica of the image of Our Lady of Fatima, which will make a pilgrimage in the different diocesan territories, “as a sign of the presence and permanence of the fruits of the visit of the image of the Virgin,” the statement explains.

Later, on Saturday, August 13, a Mass will be celebrated in the Managua Cathedral, with the participation of small delegations from each diocese that will carry replicas of the image of the Virgin.

Finally, on August 14 and 15, the closing Mass of the National Marian Congress will be held in each diocese, with the enthronement of the replica of the pilgrim image that will remain in each of the country’s dioceses.
