Stay Focusing on God

There was an incident in the life of Saint Faustina, known as the Missionary of Divine Mercy which would be relevant all the time regarding the focus on God.

Once Sister Faustina learned that a guest coming to their convent who was very special to her. Hearing the news, she was overjoyed. She was assigned the duty of decorating the parlor.

She spent more time in the garden picking the best flowers to decorate. As she moves in with the flowers, Jesus approaches her ( We know that Jesus often appeared secretly to Faustina).

“Where are you moving so happily with the flowers?”, Jesus asked.

“Jesus, don’t you know, there’s a special person coming here today. It’s my responsibility to prepare the bouquet in the parlor.”

“I know everything. I have been noticing your happiness from the moment I heard the news today. How carefully you collect the flowers? I didn’t see such care and happiness when you decorated the flowers at the Altar yesterday?”

Later, Faustina wrote about the incident in her diary:

“Though Jesus is my dearest, my attention goes to many things above Jesus. He reminded me that nothing should be more precious than Him.”

This small incident in Faustina’s life is perhaps not new to us. However, this incident sheds light on the importance of our life. We all should have to give prominence to God always. Our focus must be on Him.

Staying focused on God can be a difficult task, even for people who consider themselves very religious or spiritual. Family, work, and entertainment are just a few of the things that often distract people from their walk with God. Thankfully, you can learn to focus on God without neglecting your other important responsibilities. Prioritize your relationship with God by setting spiritual goals for yourself, spending some time with God every day, and living by the tenets of your faith.
