“24 Hours for the Lord”: Churches Worldwide Open for Confession During Lent

The Catholic Church is inviting faithful to participate in the “24 Hours for the Lord” initiative, a global event encouraging adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and confession. This year’s theme, chosen by Pope Leo XIV, is “I have come to save the world” (Jn 12:47). From March 13th to 14th, churches will be open for extraordinary prayer and confession sessions.

The Dicastery for Evangelization has published a document with resources for personal prayer and community celebration, highlighting the healing power of confession through testimonies like Miguel Vera’s conversion story. Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis have shared insights on the importance of confession, emphasizing its role in spiritual renewal.
