The Bible is the means by which God communicates with His children. It can be considered as a love letter, a navigation route, a question-and-answer book, a maker’s instruction manual, and a collection of vulnerable human testimonies that God supports in difficult moments.  Therefore, the Holy Bible is the cornerstone of the great Catholic faith.

1. The word Bible is derived from the Latin word ‘biblia’. But its root word comes from the Greek. The Greek word ‘biblia’ means ‘books.’

2. The Bible is a collection of 73 books. There are 46 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament.

3. The Bible is written in three languages. Most of the Old Testament is written in Hebrew and parts in Aramaic. But the New Testament was written in Greek.

4. There are at least 185 songs in the Bible because at that time people were singing about God or the events around them. The book of Psalms and the Deuteronomy contain at least 150 songs.

5. Studies indicate that the Bible was written by more than 40 writers. Some of them are Prophets, Kings, Evangelists, Apostles, etc.

6. Jeremiah is the longest book in the Bible and the shortest book is the third Epistle of  St. John.
